From Tracie: -Giving Away What's In The Bible

Phil Vischer, the guy who created Veggie Tales, has a whole new series that is awesome. It is called What's in the Bible. We watched the first two episodes (actually we have watched them about 12 times since I got them) and my first reaction is.....FUN! The songs are cute, the puppets are funny, the information is great! You can get a little feel for it here.

This is one of the first kids Bible movies that I have seen where, even though they are having fun with it, they aren't dumbing down the information. I appreciated that the actual words canon, sin, redemption, covenant, and Septuagint were used and explained. They don't skip over the difficult topics (creation theories, Abraham and Issac, is the Bible true or not) or even the easy topics that are often skipped. When covering Noah's Ark, they actually mentioned that some animals came in by sevens and not just two by two. I loved that!

Katarina enjoyed the entire thing. She has been singing the songs over and over again, and she says the Sunday School lady is her favorite puppet. After watching it, I asked her what is something she learned, and she said, "God wants to save us from the stain, power and presence of sin. He wants us to be far away from it!" Now if that isn't an endorsement of this movie, I don't know what could be!

Even though this is Phil Vischer and puppets, this is unlike any kids video I have seen....and I think that is a good thing! It is definitely a movie for the whole family, something that all ages can enjoy, and I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out!
